Good evening from Strawberry School. This is Principal Wilson with your weekly message.
As we finish our second week of distance learning it has become clear that we are in the midst of a life altering world event. While the most recent shelter-in-place order by the County Health Office and the school closure order by the Governor are helping to slow the spread of COVID-19 and decrease the overall impact to our infrastructure and to our people, the truth is this event is incredibly impactful. Our responses to local news and world events, how we model resilience, how we support each other, our families, and our communities, will guide how our children experience and work through traumatic events.
During this school year if your child has participated in THE FAST LANE to receive extra help in math and/or reading. Good news! That help can still continue! The Fast Lane is excited to offer the “Home Run” Hot Line beginning April 6th. Check out the attached flyer for more details.
This Tuesday, April 7th is DINE AND DONATE AT LOS TRES CHILES! Los Tres Chiles will donate 20% to BVEF, so stop by for lunch, dinner or take out, and be sure to mention that you're from Bennett Valley Schools!
VIRTUAL VALLEY OF THE ARTS ONLINE AUCTION FUNDRAISER: BVEF needs our biggest fundraiser to pay for beloved art, music, and dance instruction for Yulupa and Strawberry schools. Without necessary funds, these programs are at risk of being cut. WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Strawberry School’s Toolbox: Tools for learning, tools for life
April – Apology and Forgiveness Tool: I admit my mistakes and work to forgive others.
A sincere apology opens the door to self-responsibility and forgiveness. It takes self-esteem and
inner strength to admit a mistake and do the right thing. Using the Apology Tool is a giant leap
towards maturity. Forgiveness takes equal strength. It requires letting go of anger and judgment.
It does not mean we have to forget, but there must be a willingness to forgive. If we are still
holding the hot ember of anger, resentment, or hatred, we are the one still getting burned.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have. Go Eagles!
